House – 6.17 – Lockdown Review

This much-anticipated episode left House fans feverish with excitement for Hugh Laurie’s directorial debut and Jennifer Morrison’s return. But did the episode live up to its hype?

For those of you who haven’t seen it, Lockdown was not your typical House episode. Instead of even having a patient this week, the entire hospital has gone into, well, Lockdown, because a newborn baby is missing.

As unrealistic as this scenario may have been (I mean, what if someone were dying or something? Nobody can leave their room to help them? Sheesh), it was an interesting, if not overdone idea to force the characters to interact, as they were locked into these rooms with each other.

Wilson and Thirteen play a game of ‘Truth or Dare’, which was somewhat funnier than it sounds, as there were a few amusing moments including Wilson getting caught stealing a dollar bill from the cash register, although these were marred by Thirteen’s usual dark, dark secrets and antics. Wow she’s deep. And apparently a total liar about everything – thanks for learning nothing about her character. I guess she’s been forced down our throats so much these past few seasons there’s nothing else to tell.

Foreman and Taub, locked in a storage room, try some of House’s vicodin, and look through each others’ confidential files. I have to say I  did enjoyed the comic relief they provided, and found their scenes to have chemistry, despite the astonishingly fast rate they somehow stopped being stoned, and the predicticality of House’s prank with the files.

Cameron returns to Chase with divorce papers and after an emotional argument about whether she ever really loved him they have some breakup sex. I’m making this sound far worse than it was, because I did find their story to be one of the most interesting – especially considering the actors’ history (I mean – god what if that actually happened when they broke up for real? Awkward…). Anyway, I was glad to see the return of Cameron, and really this episode just made me wonder even more why they ever let her go. I’m definitely thinking she’s going to be coming back full time in the future, as Jennifer Morrison did some phenomenal acting, and really does seem to be a part of the House world. Even though her reasons for breaking up with him were so unrealistic it would have been better for her to just admit the writers fired her because FOX needs to cut budgets and Olivia Wilde’s more famous, this was what they chose to do.

House was left to talk to a dying man (never happened before on House. Ever.) Obviously, this brought on yet another – ‘gosh, let’s talk about my feelings’ conversation – which, I’m sad to say, I found the dullest of them all – and I never find House’s scenes dull. But House’s feelings have been way overdone this season. Like seriously.

Finally, we had Cuddy. Let me begin by saying that Cuddy is possibly now one of the most irritating people in the entire show. Not only does she wear way too much makeup, but she seems to now be impersonating her beau Lucas by playing detective and magically recognizing that there are too many towels in the patient’s bedroom and magically deducing from there that the baby is in a laundry hamper. Right outside the room. That they somehow forgot to check. I mean, seriously, what is with this hospital? They can have helicopters and sniffer dogs, but can’t find a baby 30 feet from the patient’s room? Well, I guess it was some sort of super-human baby that never cries. Despite being basically smothered for three hours.

So you can see I was disappointed.

Surprised? Maybe. This isn’t the first House episode to have a different feel to it – every season there’s usually one that just stands apart from the rest slightly before the finale. (But a third episode with no medicine? Really? Are they running out of diseases or something? Apart from this magic diesase of “absent seizures” Genius!Cuddy diagnosed). But for me, this episode only reminded me further of why House just isn’t the show it used to be, and I kept having images of the episode Three Stories popping up in my head. This just didn’t even come close to comparing.

To me, it felt rushed, unsubtle, with a poor solution and poor character developments, and it makes me sad that people thought it was so great. I’d say a run-of-the-mill season 1 or 2 episode is better quality for the dialogue and character development, but that’ just me. We can only hope for a shocking season finale. That doesn’t involve this “Huddy” crap. Yeah. Dream on.

Agree? Disagree? Think I’m barking up the wrong tree? Or think House is ‘jumping the shark?’ Comment below, or hunt me down.

I totally agree, this episode could have been sooooo good, but it was really dull. there was zero suspense. they tried to turn the house-holmes thing into a real mystery (although house himself was chatting with a random dying guy) and cuddy just wound up looking retarded. there were so many commercials for this episode, and it totally blew

I totally agree with every line. The episode was such a disappointment. I couldn’t even enjoy David Strathairn’s scenes, and I love David Strathairn!
Jennifer Morrison’s acting was superb though Cameron’s storyline was unnecessary. Nothing new happened, we didn’t learn anything and that “I’m damaged” storyline is so old and lame. Instead of to tell us WHY she’s damaged and unfixable we were told the 2 things we already (and only) know about Cameron’s past – she married a dying man and she was damaged before that.

Cuddy acting like a detective? Really? Isn’t House the one who constantly says that Cuddy is an administrator and not a doctor? But suddenly she’s got a CSI eye and can see that the woman has goosebumps on only one arm.

I stopped watching the show last season because I found most episodes ludicrous but after learning that this was Laurie’s directing debut and that the episode is gonna offer some answers I tuned in, now I wish I didn’t. One hour of my life wasted. I’m glad that I watched the CBS shows and tivo’ed House, so at least I had the option to fast forward through some of the lameness.

One of the worst episodes this season. Nothing made sense. I didn´t buy detective Cutty, I didn´t buy House talking about the woman he met back in the psychiatric ward and I didn´t buy Cameron and Chase having sex after divorcing. Tao and Foreman taking pills was ridiculous. About Jennifer Morrison acting skills I have to disagree. Her performance was overdone and unbelieveble. I had never enjoyed her or her character but this episode was really disapointing. Hugh Laurie was fantastic, so was the patient. The episode not so much.

“Finally, we had Cuddy. Let me begin by saying that Cuddy is possibly now one of the most irritating people in the entire show.” ARE YOU FOR REAL? I think the most boring character was the one they got rid of.Cameron was it? haha

    Judgmental people are no fun.
Please, next time, think about what you’re writing before you post.
No one should be judged and we are not in any position to allow ourselves that.

I am one of the rare people who like Cameron and Cuddy and I think this episode was stupid. I wish they had brought back Cameron for an episode where she could have actually interacted with other characters besides Chase. Then I didn’t get the point of the writers making Cuddy look like an idiot. They could have at least made it so someone actually took the baby!

Is this a serious review? It´s obviously made by a hameron fan so…no…it´s not a serious one. BTW the ratings for this episode were really low. So for all those delusional fans who thought that viewers were interested in Jennifer Morrison return this proves you wrong. Hopefully she is not coming back to the show. We had enough of her useless character.

    are you for real?
you clearly are not a professional writter.
never found such a biased review.
why dont you get your Ham tissues and cry in the corner instead of bashing the queen?
episode wasnt fantastic and very not up to expectation but still, you are being very obnoxious!

FYI, I read every single review for House, even the ones that dont necessaraly agree with me just to keep an open mind and to think further about the episode coz I am actuall educated and smart and I dont just bash for the pleasure of bashing. I want sense and logic and arguments when I make a point or when someone makes it.
this particular review has none of this. it’s free shooting!
        silly yourself!

Okay! I understand you don’t like Cuddy… well actually I don’t!! Cuddy is an important character for the show, I don’t sympathize with Cameron and I don’t just get on the net saying that she looked like a freaking whore! Almost begging Chase to have sex with her! seriously she asks for divorce but then she wants to have sex with him? please! oh crap! This is the internet! oh well… people need to know the truth!
I have some Hameron friends (you know the non-delusional ones) and even they say that Hameron is over!! GET A LIFE!!

AND STOP BASHING CUDDY ‘CAUSE YOU’LL ONLY GET HATE COMMENTS AS A RESPONSE!

    April 22, 2010 at 9:59 pm

You know, if you want to be taken seriously as a writer/reviewer, you should at least try to pretend to be objective.
It’s clear that you’re a Hameron and will bash Cuddy for any reason. Too much make up? Seriously? That’s your argument? Can you stoop any lower?
Besides, the fact that she became the first female and second youngest Dean of Medicine ever, suggests that she is indeed smart enough to figure out that there are too many towels or that her nurse is non-responsive.

For the sake of all House fans, not just Huddies, please keep your ‘reviews’ to yourself and never publish them online. Until you can put aside the inner Ham fangirl in you and write an objective review that wouldn’t be a pretext to bitch about characters you don’t like.

  12. Cuddles
    April 22, 2010 at 10:01 pm

I disagree. Cuddy is my favorite character so far, bashing is so easy… I love Cameron too and I’m happy she came back but you haven’t the right to say this stuff about Cuddy only because you’re a delusional Hameron. Stop thinking about ship fighting, that’s stupid for sure. Cuddy was amazing in this epi like always if I can say, I liked the Chase/Cameron made out too.
“Not only does she wear way too much makeup” –> this is beyond asshood…
But I can’t say I loved the episode, I just wanna say stop bashing Cuddy.

  13. Sheis
    April 22, 2010 at 10:05 pm

You don’t see Cuddy fans writing stuff like this on articles, of course some of us get irritated and leave hateful comments… well that’s what you get for pissing of Cuddy fans :/
Don’t write stuff like this, it only makes you look like a stupid 5-year-old kid , and I’m sure you’re not

The most irritating person in the entire show is Cameron. That´s why she is out. And thanks God for that.

  15. Kelly
    April 22, 2010 at 10:14 pm

The show is now a bad version of Grey’s Anatomy, which I never liked in the first place. It lost its subtlety somewhere in season three and has never gotten it back. Ditching Cameron was idiotic, as was bringing her back only to make her look absolutely pathetic, while Chase comes out the hero again. And what questions did we get answers to? None. Still don’t know Cameron’s dead husband’s name or a single damn thing about her beyond her poor dead husband and that she’s damaged. Thanks for nothing, show. I’ve been convinced for a while that the writers and possibly the show runners are a bunch of misogynists and nothing has dissuaded me from that this season. Cuddy, Cameron, Hadley… all the main women are routinely thrown under the bus to make the men look good. And we know the least about the female characters, most especially Cameron, which astounded me even further when I read that they told Jennifer Morrison they had run out of story lines for her character. What a load of crap!

  16. Justine
    April 22, 2010 at 10:15 pm

I didn’t even want to comment because of your “That doesn’t involve this “Huddy” crap. Yeah. Dream on.” line. I did want to ask you, you sound very bitter. I too agree the episode was a huge disappointment, but your comment about Cuddy wearing “too much make up” and “Huddy crap” leads me to believe you lack intelligence to form an opinion about the episode in a respectful fashion.

Some of us like Cuddy. She is the ONLY female on the show with some self respect. Forgive me if I don’t identify with characters like Cameron who is written like a total wet blanket and 13 who sleeps with people she’s known for 5 minutes.

If you do not like the “Huddy crap” do the rest of us a favor and watch something else. Maybe a show where people where less make up.

    • Amy
      April 22, 2010 at 11:21 pm

There’s no difference between huddies and hamerons: stupid, obsessed fangirls who keep bashing each other every time. Sure, hams are few but so are huddies: they’re all watching this season hoping for huddy and still the ratings are keeping down.

  17. Megan
    April 22, 2010 at 10:20 pm

WOW!!! Someone is a bitter HAMERON! BWAHAHA!! Who complains about a characters make up? That’s all you have? And why is it House is the only one allowed to realize something important? Did you complain when Wilson realized his patient had cancer cause he was depressed, or do you only hate when Cuddy uses her brain?

If you are a Hameron fan, I can see why a woman using her brain offends you!!

    • Liz

    April 22, 2010 at 10:22 pm

LMAO! This is the only review of Lockdown where JMo is praised and of course it´s made by a hameron fan. I didn´t read anything good about her in other and more profesional reviews. Did you read all the praise that Lisa Edelstein got for her performance in 5 to 9? I can link you all the articles if you want. And those were not made by Huddy fans, by the way.

I don´t really know why i bother commenting here. A person who insult Cuddy calling her irritating because of her make up can only be a delusional Jennifer Morrison fan.

    • ag
      April 22, 2010 at 11:55 pm

Did you even READ the review? They don’t say ANYTHING about LIsa Edelstein deserving or not deserving praise for ‘5 to 9’! This has NOTHING to do with Lisa Eldelstein, it’s their view of what the CHARACTER is like. Obviously you have some issues, as you seem to blur the lines between the two when you say: “A person who insult Cuddy calling her irritating because of her make up can only be a delusional Jennifer Morrison fan.” They can not like CUDDY and like the ACTRESS. CUDDY and LISA EDELSTEIN are two different people. Seriously, dude, stop living in a fantasy world. Stop making this about ships.

  19. Sandra
    April 22, 2010 at 10:24 pm

Totally agree with you. I really wish the show’s writers would stop focusing on one ship, turn Cuddy back into the woman I admired in the first season and for God’s sake bring back Cameron, the Cameron who went through a awesome character development over the last seasons.
These comments here remind me why I started to highly dislike this fandom (not the show itself) – it’s full of delusional, immature and/or bitching fangirls. BTW Cuddy fans, it’s not like you were never bashing Cameron or Cameron fans – think about it. Can we all act like mature grown-ups now? Thank you.

    • MissCheivous
      April 22, 2010 at 10:34 pm

They are focusing on Huddy by…………putting Cuddy with another man? LMAO Ok. Yay Huddy! LOL

What is this awesome character development Cam went through? Where she stopped chasing House like a little puppy dog and pouting her eyes at him? She was a wet blanket in season 1, she’s still a wet blanket in season 6.

      • Caroline
        April 23, 2010 at 1:22 am

Luddy is a way to keep Huddy up without actually putting the characters together. The writers want to keep sexual tension between them but don’t actually want to pair them up. It’s a ratings strategy to keep the Huddy fans watching.

  20. MissCheivous
    April 22, 2010 at 10:27 pm

Um. The reason the season focused on “House’s feelings” is because he had a breakdown and was institutionalized. He is learning to live life sober. What do you want them to focus on? His toes?

I really have never understood why people complain about a show being so bad WHILE THEY CONTINUE TO WATCH IT. “A bad version of Grey’s” if you feel that way, why don’t you watch something else? So the rest of us don’t have to listen to your complaining. It seems highly abnormal to me, to watch a show you simply do not enjoy.

    Makes NO sense.

    • Kelly
      April 23, 2010 at 12:04 am

I stopped watching after season four. But I keep up with what’s happening on the show for two reasons: the vain hope that it might turn into something I’d actually enjoy again (like “Broken” which I thought was phenomenal), and because I still love the characters as they were in seasons one and two and part of season three and so I feel invested in what happens to them.

I don’t watch a show I don’t enjoy. I could ask you why you read reviews you don’t enjoy, but that assumes you read all this person’s reviews, and I’m all about not assuming. Cheers! 😀

So you think this episode was awful because of…Cuddy’s make-up? Seriously? Who can even remember what the heck Cuddy looked like when our brains have been fried by Cameron’s moral superiority and ridiculously fake crying. Her storyline in this episode was completely unnecessary, and this time I hope she stays gone.
As someone pointed out above, the ratings for “Lockdown” were nothing special, proving that no one gave a crap that Cameron was back for one episode.
That’s not to say that Cameron was the only problem with this episode. Taub and Foreman looked like idiots. Apparently, Cuddy should take up a career in baby finding. The Wilson/13 truth or dare game was very forced and stiff, not at all amusing.
So yeah, this episode sucked, but it sure wasn’t because of Cuddy’s make up.

    • James A
      April 22, 2010 at 10:53 pm

Ratings? Do you think that all Cameron fans that left back in November watched this episode just because Shore and Jacobs thought that they could throw them a bone by having Jennifer Morrison come back as a guest star and to a poor storyline? you’re wrong.

Did you check this week’s episode ratings? Same low ratings as last week. House is going down.

      • Laila
        April 22, 2010 at 11:01 pm

That’s interesting, considering that most Hameron fans that I came across were very excited for her return.
Last week’s ratings were low because of a 3 week break before that episode, and those ratings still weren’t as bad as the ones for this week.

  22. James A
    April 22, 2010 at 10:33 pm

It seems a bunch of rude Cuddy/Huddy fans tweeted a link to your review and labeled as written by some Hameron fan a.k.a House and Cameron shipper. Then came here and started trolling your site and calling you names. That’s their usual behavior I must say. They think House MD should be named after their favorite couple Huddy MD, that House is only good as long as Cuddy is mooning over House, that Lisa Edelstein plays a main character on the show and that there would be no show without her. Who cares if the script is awful, if an actor phones in their scenes or if canon is re-written? Guess what! It’s ok to not like a character or think that the show has lost its luster.

And I must agree with this reviewer, Cuddy’s been a waste of a character this season and she adds nothing to the show lately.

And for all you Cuddy/Huddy aggressive fans, talkingtv has the right to say whatever she/he wants because it’s her/his review, it’s how he/she perceives the show. If you don’t like it either don’t read it or write your own review.

    • Laila
      April 22, 2010 at 10:58 pm

If this person can say whatever they want about [H]ouse ‘because it’s her/his review’, then can’t the readers of said article say whatever they want about his/her review?
Also, lumping everyone who was offended by this poorly written article into a group called ‘rude Cuddy/Huddy fans’ is also kinda rude. Just sayin.

      • James A
        April 22, 2010 at 11:07 pm

Dear, the difference between some of you rude Cuddy/Huddy fans and the reviewer is that she’s writing about a character whereas you are insulting and being rude to a real person over a TV show. Just saying.

And if you don’t want me to lump all of you into a group called “rude Cuddy/Huddy” fans don’t use a public site to invite your Cuddy/Huddy “friends” to leave a comment here.

      • Laila
        April 22, 2010 at 11:16 pm

        *Honey*,
First of all, no one is ‘invited’ to a ‘public’ site, it’s PUBLIC.
I might respect your view that the person who wrote this was writing about fictional characters until I read this in your review: “that Lisa Edelstein plays a main character on the show and that there would be no show without her. Who cares if the script is awful, if an actor phones in their scenes..” Did you not just bring a ‘real person’ into your review. Check your own review before you go lecturing others.

      • James A
        April 22, 2010 at 11:21 pm

Is that I brought the FACT that “Lisa Edelstein doesn’t play a main character on the show” into my review all your argument? Am I insulting her? it’s a FACT.

And seriously, can you read? It says “invite to leave a comment” not “invite to a public site”.

        Whatever!

      • Laila
        April 22, 2010 at 11:24 pm

The FACT that you implied that some actors on the show ‘phone in their scenes’ is insulting, yes.

And seriously, what is the difference between reading and commenting on a PUBLIC site? It is PUBLIC. Don’t write an article or review on a PUBLIC site if you don’t want it read or commented on by the PUBLIC.

      • James A
        April 22, 2010 at 11:29 pm

I’ll say it again, yes, I think that some actors on the show phone in their scenes, it’s not an insult. it’s how I perceive it.

And you obviously can’t read. Now, THAT’S an insult.

      • Laila
        April 22, 2010 at 11:35 pm

Well, Jennifer Morrison is a lack luster actress and I’m glad she’s gone, that’s how I perceive it.

And you obviously can’t put your bitterness into a tangible argument, so you come up with the clever insult that I can’t read…Good one!

Well, it seems saying the reviewer is a “STUPID BITCH! BRING ON THE HAM HATE!!” well – to me that seems somewhat ridiculous. Calling someone a bitch and getting your friends to write about it just because you don’t agree? Immature, Huddies, real immature. James A :

Being excited for Cameron’s return is one thing, sitting through an awful tv show to see a glimpse of your favorite character being shredded into pieces is another thing.

Exactly. I got bored with the bad writing and over-the-top shenanigans by the fall and stopped watching. Got suckered back in because of the hype about Jennifer Morrison coming back and Hugh Laurie directing.

The writing is just as bad as it was (why is Thirteen flashing Taub? Is that why Olivia Wilde replaced Jennifer Morrison, because she’s willing to take her clothes off?) and for all the good work JM in this episode, Her character was once again shredded on the altar of Chase and propping the men on the show. The story that it was all Cameron’s fault is ridiculous. Chase killed a man and refused to start his marriage to Cameron over again. Stay tuned for a Chase/Thirteen relationship next.

Making this a Huddy vs Hameron debate is senseless because the quality of the show isn’t good enough any more to make it worth arguing about. Cuddy can have him. All I want is the season 1 and 2 characters back again, not only Cameron but House, Wilson and yes even Cuddy too.

I have to say, why the bashing YOURSELVES, huddies? This review has EVERY RIGHT to say what he/she wants (and, i might point out, they don’t even MENTION liking hameron). You also have every right to comment with your opinion, but don’t insult them!! I, and a lot of people I know, happen to agree with a lot of the stuff he/she said. So relax, guys! This isn’t a personal vendetta against Huddies – it’s just ONE PERSON’S view

There’s no difference between huddies and hamerons: stupid, obsessed fangirls who keep bashing each other every time. Sure, hams are few but so are huddies: they’re all watching this season hoping for huddy and still the ratings are keeping down.

Cameron hasn´t got enough fans to change the ratings. I have read a lot of Cameron fans´ comments asking people to watch the show that night to make the numbers higher to prove TPTB that it was a mistake to fire Morrison. I´m sure that if the show had made for ex. 17 millions, hamerons will be all over the web saying that it was because of JMo (and not giving any credit to HL). But the ratings have been poor so they prefer to hide. If this episode was full of House/Cuddy scenes then Hameron fans would say that huddy is killing the show. The thing is general viewers don´t give a crap about Cameron and as I said before, her fans are not enough to make any diference.

I agree. The reviewer has a right to say what she wants. Bashing gets old from BOTH sides. But I saw the same thing. Hams were telling everyone to watch in lots of places and on Twitter and tried to make it trend and failed. I have nothing against JMo or her character on the show. But her screentime was so reduced the last couple of seasons that it there weren’t as many as there were. Add that and the fact that a lot of Hams were very angry and stopped watching the show if not by last season, then by the time they heard Morrison was leaving and hoping the numbers would drop.

As for Cuddy, say what you will about her, but the episode she had this season that focused almost solely on her and was advertised to be about her and a day in the life of was the fourth highest rated of the season. She is a very popular character, one of the vaunted OT3.

Great, great review! Basically summed up all my thoughts about the episode better than I ever could have.

Don’t let the Cuddy fans get you down. I used to love Cuddy. She was a great character once, but you were dead on in your assessment of her this ep (and lately).

First off, I’m a House/Cameron shipper but I’m still fond of Cuddy and I agree with this review. The show did feel rushed, very little was revealed about the characters like they hyped the episode up to be. The two most riveting scenes were House revealing Lydia changed him and Chase and Cameron’s “Closer (the movie)” moment, when he forces the truth out of Cameron. The rest was just contrived background noise.

As for the Hameron/Huddy business, let’s not bash each other over tv relationships. It makes us all look nuts over something that should be fun and entertaining. If you don’t like it, write you’re own review.

This reviewer has every right to publish a poorly written text but by putting it on a website and inviting comments, we all have the right to respond with our opinions. Not everyone can be a good writer but if you want to be taken seriously, using words like “Huddy Crap” and bringing up a real life relationship between the 2 actors will not help you reach your goal.I choose to make my comments about Jennifer Morrison who obviously did not bring TPTB to their knees with her performance nor did she show TPTB how much the ratings would go up with this supposedly much loved character and actress in the episode. I’m sorry but she is just not a good actress so any character she plays will suffer.Maybe she could get by if she didn’t have to work w/ such talented people who only make her short comings more evident. Even in TMW, her reviews were less than stellar. She does not advance the story therefore her character serves no purpose and who can blame TPTB for not wanting to contract an actress to be paid for a full season for 30 minutes of screen time. If she is so talented, people will be beating down her door offering her leads. Oh wait, pilot season is over. If someone wanted her, being busy with TMW would not have been a problem. And at least Huddy fans didn’t give Lisa panties with her name and Hugh’s on the back. OMG If anyone here thinks Hamerons don’t bash Lisa, check Twitter.

Huddy crap? Seriously? Get a life and go to twitter to comment how “fantastic” JMo was on Miracle Worker. And it makes me laugh that this is the only reviewer who talk about her “terrific performance”. Yeah, ok. For a mexican soap her performance can be good. For House MD isn´t.

I fully agree with your comment and I’m glad you have the courage to speak his mind, even knowing though fangirls of Cuddy, would question him, criticizing him and trying to ridicule him.
As for Cameron, she really deserved a better text quality, but what can we expect from writer / producer / creator of the series, even knowing that now the show no longer has the same quality as the previous seasons.
Thank you for being our voice and dont care for the ill-educated comments you received.

I´m sorry if I disagree with you. Cuddy was annoying for 3 or 4 episodes this season but after 5 to 9 she is back to her original self and she is an amazing character. In Lockdown she had an epiphany and saved the day as usually House does. She is smart, sexy and kicks asses. That´s why so many people admire her. And about her make up. I think Lisa Edelstein was absolutly stunning in this episode. The camera totally made love to her.

Thank you! I thought I was the only one to not like this episode (or this season in general). I applaud you for your bravery in posting an unpopular opinion. As the mature, erudite person that you are, I’m sure you’re ignoring all of the childish, condescending, and downright abhorrent remarks from the Huddy fangirls. BTW Huddy fangirls, you can post all of the immature responses you want in regard to my comment. I’m not going to flinch. I doubt you would be so free with your insults if not for the anonymity of the internet.

Wow, thanks Huddy/Cuddy fangirls for illustrating how pathetic and hysteric our fandom is.
Reading all your comments makes me feel ashamed of being a Huddy fan. I’ve been watching the show since the beginning and I’ve been rooting for House&Cuddy just as long. I think that Lisa E is one of the most wonderful persons I’ve seen on tv and she’s such a lovely woman. I can however without a doubt say that the character of Cuddy has suffered a lot in the last 2 years. They often make her look like a 12 yr old girl. Everything you accuse Cameron of being, that’s exactly what Cuddy is too. If you still believe that nothing is wrong with Cuddy, then you’re in denial. Your opinion is clear, mine is that I love the Cuddy who in the first years of the show beat House with intelligence and wit (Oh, I looked into that philosopher you quoted, Jagger, and you’re right, “You can’t always get what you want,” but as it turns out “if you try sometimes you get what you need.”)
I don’t like the Cuddy who takes off her thong to prove a point or makes tripwire for a cripple to stumble and hurt himself and then blame it all on PMS.

In the article above there’s not one single word about House and Cameron, not one comparision between the two pairings and you fall over the writer like this? Have to insult him/her for stating his/her opinion? For liking an actress’ performance?

Everyone who’s 12 and going through PMS the first time is excused, all the rest should feel ashamed.

House did suffer in quality a lot since season four and I find myself bored more often than not. However I’m sticking with the show because I’m a hopeful shipper and I’m patiently waiting for a House&Cuddy hook up. I hope the writers don’t disappoint.

Thank you for saying everything I thought about the episode. The writing was bad, the characters are cartoonish, and they seem to have run out of new ideas. Will it affect House that when he refuses a patient, they probably die? I doubt it.

It was like they did a mash up of No Reason and One Day, One Room except with less interesting storylines. It was also a waste of Jennifer Morrison since Cameron has always been much more valuable to the show when holding House’s feet to the ethical fire than the bad soap opera relationship with Chase. I won’t accuse Hugh Laurie of phoning in his scenes but he’s a better actor in a scene with Jennifer Morrison than in one with Olivia Wilde.

It´s the first time I read your blog and it will probably be the last. This is such a poor review and obviously biased. I liked Lockdown, not the best episode but still better then others this season. I hope the writers are done with the character of Cameron and her melodramatic storylines. Chase is a better character when she is not around. So are the others.

    April 24, 2010 at 7:10 pm

WTF? All you people crying fowl about a “bias” are really off base. How can this author have a “bias”? They have taken what they have been presented and formed an opinion about it. That’s not a bias.

Typically, people who like Cuddy are not going to like Cameron and vice versa. They develop a liking for one of the two characters and thus enjoy the idea of that character being romantically linked with the protagonist. However, because Cameron and Cuddy are so different, most people who like one of the two (and their respective pairings with House) are likely to find the other character and their ‘ship to be annoying. I don’t think it has anything to do with ‘ship jealousy. The two characters are simply so different that it seems some fans can’t reconcile and enjoy both Huddy and Hameron.

Personally, I’m done with these shows who entice viewers to watch by dragging out a “love” story with the distant promise of some grand culmination THAT NEVER COMES and doesn’t illustrate what real love or a real relationship is. Shows like that are immature. House is one of those shows. I’d much rather watch re-runs of The Sopranos (a real show) than new episodes of House.

“…and Olivia Wilde’s more famous, this was what they chose to do.”

Sorry, let me say,i desagree to you in that point.
I had never heard of Olivia Wilde.
I should add that Jen Morrison is much better actress than OW.
And Cameron is a character infinitely better than 13.
But, no longer is it today that DS / KS has been making dire choices.
